DHAKA, Aug 16, 2026 (BSS) - Six more children died with measles symptoms in the country in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths from measles-related illnesses to 908 , according to a press release of Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

According to the release, although no one died of confirmed measles in the last 24 hours, six children died of suspected measles. 

With this, a total of 99 children have died of confirmed measles and 809 of suspected measles since March 15.

A total of 80 new confirmed measles cases were reported in the last 24 hours while 1,021 new suspected measles cases were identified.

According to DGHS data, a total of 142,797 suspected measles cases have been reported since March 15. During the same period, 17,880 confirmed measles cases were identified.
