DHAKA, August 25, 2026 (BSS) – The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has taken extensive and multi-layered security measures to maintain law and order in the capital and ensure the safety of city dwellers on the occasion of holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi (PBUH). 

The entire capital has been brought under a stringent security arrangement to prevent any untoward incident and address any potential threat to public safety, a DMP press release said today.

It said check-posts and search operations have been intensified at all entry points to the metropolis.

Meanwhile, members of the Detective Branch (DB) and the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit will remain deployed for operational activities, intelligence surveillance and security operations. 

Members of SWAT, the Bomb Disposal Unit and the K-9 Unit will conduct sweeping operations at important locations and places where large gatherings are expected. 

Key installations have been brought under special security plans, with round-the-clock surveillance through CCTV cameras and drones.
