NARSINGDI, Aug 25, 2026 (BSS) - Narsingdi-1 lawmaker and BNP Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon has called for unity to ensure the proper implementation of the government's public welfare and development programmes with justice, principles and honesty.

He made the call while speaking at a tree plantation and sapling distribution programme at Narsingdi Government College today.

Khokon said the people are supporting the government and no conspiracy can obstruct its progress.

The district unit of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal organised the programme as part of a tree plantation initiative announced by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and to mark the 82nd birthday of former BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

A total of 2,000 fruit-bearing and forest saplings were distributed among students and marginal farmers.

District Krishak Dal Acting Convener Md Shafiqul Islam presided over the programme, while Krishak Dal President and Agriculturist Hasan Zafir Tuhin attended as a special guest. General Secretary Md Shahidul Islam Babul, MP, spoke as the main discussant.

Zila Parishad Administrator Bir Muktijoddha Toffazzal Hossain and other leaders were also present.
