DHAKA, Aug 26, 2026 (BSS) - Health officials today reported 550 new dengue cases across the country in the past 24 hours.

According to a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement, six patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 102 in Chattogram division, 215 in Dhaka division, 84 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) areas, 49 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 38 in Khulna division, 45 in Mymensingh division, eight in Rangpur division and three in Sylhet division.

With the latest figures, the country has so far recorded 31,380 dengue cases and 88 deaths this year.

Last year, dengue claimed 413 lives and infected 102,861 people across the country.

In 2024, the mosquito-borne disease caused 575 deaths and infected 101,214 people in Bangladesh.
