CHATTOGRAM, Aug 26, 2026 (BSS) - Law enforcement has seized a variety of 
narcotics, including yaba, marijuana, and alcohol during a targeted anti-drug 
operation across 11 districts within the Chattogram Range over the past 24 
hours.
 
During this operation, 230 individuals were arrested in connection with 
various drug offenses. This information was disclosed following the 24-hour 
operation conducted on Tuesday (August 25). 

Chattogram Range DIG Abdul Kuddus Chowdhury told journalists that the 
operation yielded the recovery of 6,232 yaba tablets, 54.417 kilograms of 
cannabis, and 375 liters 250 milliliters of alcohol on Tuesday.
 
A total of 52 cases have been initiated under the Narcotics Control Act as a 
result of this operation. 

Among those arrested, 74 are identified as drug dealers, six as drug 
carriers, and 150 as drug users. 

Besides, 91 individuals have received varying sentences through mobile 
courts.

Additionally, a total fine of Taka 18,600 has been imposed.
