DHAKA, Jan 14, 2024 (BSS)-Brothers Union Club edged past Fortis Football Club by a solitary goal in the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup football held at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh today.

In the day's match, midfielder Kawsar Ali Rabbi scored the all-important goal for Brothers in the 36th minute of the match.

After the breather, Fortis FC, however, tried their best to stage a fight back in the match, but they could not score any in the remaining proceeding and eventually they had to leave the field with empty hand.

Brothers Union will play their last group match against Bangladesh Police Football Club on January 31.

Earlier, the all-orange Gopibagh outfit Brothers Union suffered 1-0 defeat to holders Bashundhara Kings in their opening group match and crushed Dhaka Wanderers by 8-0 goals in the second match.

Fortis Football Club, who are top of the table from group A at the moment, earlier played goalless draw with Police FC in their opening group match, but they bounced back to beat Bashundhara Kings by 2-0 goals and blanked Dhaka Wanderers by 3-0 goals.
