Police FC notch win in Fed Cup

DHAKA, Jan 14, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh Police Football Club, came from behind, beat Dhaka Wanderers Club by 2-1 goals in the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup Football held at Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital today. 

In the day's match, forward Mannaf Rabby and defender Esanur Rahman scored one each for Police, while defender Md Emon netted a lone goal for Wanderers.

Md Emon gave Dhaka Wanderers Club ahead in the 42nd minute converting a spot kick, but Police staged a brilliant fight back in the last moment in a span of two minutes. Rabby restored the parity for Police in the 84th minute while Esanur Rahman sealed the victory scoring the second goal in the 86th minute of the match. 

Police FC and Dhaka Wanderers Club will play their last group matches against Brothers Union Club and Bashundhara Kings respectively on January 31.

Earlier, Police played goalless draw with Fortis FC and suffered 3-2 defeat to Bashundhara Kings Arena.

Dhaka Wanderers lost both their group matches. They suffered a massive 8-0 defeat to Brothers Union Club in their opening group match and went down 3-0 defeat to Fortis FC.
