CHATTOGRAM, Jan 16, 2025 (BSS)-Opener Tamim Iqbal revealed the plan of his
life after retirement, saying that he is keen to continue domestic cricket as
long as it is possible.

"I will try to play cricket as long as it is possible," said Tamim after
leading his side Fortune Barishal to a crushing eight-wicket win over Dhaka
Capital today at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium here.

"Since I retired from the cricket, I can now also qualify for the Legend
League (A tournament for the retired players). Let's see what happened. I
will play all that. The Dhaka Premier League is also on the cards. If I stay
fit, I will continue to play as long as I can."

Basically the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and Dhaka Premier League (DPL)
will be his top priority, said Tamim.

"At this moment I am playing BPL so my focus in on this tournament. DPL will
be held after the BPL and I will also play there."

Rumours are rife that Tamim is joining in the cricket administration. When
asked specifically about joining in the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Tamim
replied, "I am not in a position to say anything at the moment..."

Tamim also acted as commentator when he was away from the International
cricket. But he didn't reveal whether he would continue commentary again.

The southpaw has been in superb form in this BPL and played at least three
match winning knock for the side Fortune Barishal.

But he made his displeasure clear about the shorter boundaries of Sylhet
which in this season saw an avalanche of runs.

However Tamim is happy to see the boundary size of Chattogram, a city where
he was grown up.

''The good thing is that the boundary size has increased compared to Sylhet,
this is what you want," Tamim said.

"Today we saw players got it hard to clear the boundary and they were caught
at boundary ropes. This is what it should be. Shorter boundaries can give
false confidence. I think the size that Chattogram stadium has is the right
size."
