DHAKA, Feb 1, 2025 (BSS) - The Dhaka divisional inter-college football tournament has begun at Physical Education College Ground at Mohammadpur in the capital today.
The best twenty six colleges of thirteen districts of Dhaka division are participating in the meet being held on occasion of Youth Festival-2025 under the initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The champions and runners-up of the knock out basis match will get a chance to play at the national level.
In the opening match Dr. Abul Hossain College of Rajbari district advanced to the next round after beating MA Reza Degree College of Shariatpur district by 6-1 goals.
Dhaka divisional commissioner Sharaf Uddin Ahmad formally inaugurated the tournament as the chief guest. Director of Directorate of Sports Mustafa Zaman was present among others on the occasion.
The closing ceremony of the tournament will be held on February 5.
