Govt appoints new DCs in 23 districts

DHAKA, Nov 14, 2025 (BSS) - The government has appointed new Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in 23 districts. 

The Ministry of Public Administration issued two separate notifications here on Thursday night in this regard transferring one Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah, DC of Narayanganj to Chattogram and assigning officers of the rank of Deputy Secretary (DS) as DCs in 22 districts. 

According to the first notification, Mohammad Zahidul Islam Mian, DC of Narayanganj, has been appointed as DC of Chattogram, while SM Mehedi Hasan, Director (Deputy Secretary) Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC), as DC of Lakshmipur; Syeda Nurmahal Ashrafi, Deputy Secretary of the Planning Division, as DC of Munshiganj; Md. Saifur Rahman, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Shipping, as DC of Netrakona; Md. Shahadat Hossain Masud, Deputy Secretary of the Finance Division, as DC of Chapainawabganj; Mohammad Saiful Islam, Director (Deputy Secretary) at the Chief Adviser's Office, as DC of Naogaon; Md. Anwar Sadat, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Shipping, as DC of Khagrachhari; M Reza Hasan, Chief Executive Officer (Deputy Secretary) of Rajshahi Zila Parishad, as DC of Cumilla; and Md Raihan Kabir, Deputy Secretary of the Public Division, as DC of Narayanganj.

In another notification, Shahed Mostafa, DS of Information and Broadcasting Ministry has been appointed as DC of Pabna, Md Rezaul Karim, DS of the Ministry of Commerce, as DC of Dhaka; Mohammad Enamul Ahsan, DS of Cabinet Division as DC of Rangpur; Mohammad Ashek Hasan, Faridpur Zonal Settlement Officer, Land Record and Survey Department as DC of Jashore; Dr Syed Enamul Kabir, Private Secretary to the Adviser of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, as DC of Meherpur; Muhammad Shafiqul Islam, Secretary of Dhaka South City Corporation, as DC of Noakhali; Mohammad Alam Hossain, DS of Primary and Mass Education Ministry, as DC of Gazipur; Mohammad Masudur Rahman Molla, Deputy Director of Establishment of Digital Land Management System Project, as DC of Gaibandha; Annapurna Deb Nath, Deputy Land Reform Commissioner, Land Reforms Board, as DC of Kurigram; Jahangir Alam, Private Secretary to the Adviser of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, as DC of Madaripur; Towhiduzzaman Pavel, Director of the Ant i-Corruption Commission, as DC of Moulvibazar; Md Khairul Alam Sumon, Assistant Project Director of the Mass Rapid Transit Development Project (Line-5), as DC of Barishal; Taslima Akter, DS of Technical Education and Madrasah Division, as DC of Barguna; and Nazma Ashrafi, DS of Economic Relations Division as DC of Rangamati. 

The government has also cancelled the appointment orders of two DCs - Swadeep Kumar Singh of Barguna and Lutfun Nahar of Meherpur - who were earlier appointed to the posts through a notification isseud on November 8.
