Three players share lead

DHAKA, March 17, 2025 (BSS) - Nine players shared lead in the points table with three points after the third round of Independence Day WALTON International Rating Chess tournament which is now being held at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room.

The three players are international master Md. Minhaz Uddin, FIDE master Subrata Biswas, Anata Choudhury, FIDE master Mohammad Javed, FIDE master Md. Sharif Hossain, candidate master Md. Shariatullah, Md. Nasir Uddin, woman candidate master Warsia Khusbu and Rayan Rashid Mugdho.

The third round matches were held today (Monday) with IM Md. Minhaz Uddin defeated Neeloy Debnath, FM Subrota Biswas beat CM Sohel Chowdhury, Anata Choudhury beat FM Md. Saif Uddin, FM Mohammad Javed outclassed Abdul Momin, FM Khandaker Aminul Islam split point with WCM Walijah Ahmed, Rayan Rashid Mugdho defeated, FM Mehdi Hasan Parag, Sawrnavo Choudhury split point with Sk. Rashedul Hasan, FM Md. Sharif Hossain beat Mihir Lal Das, CM Md. Abu Hanif split point with Rubel Hossen, CM Md. Shariatullah defeated Mohammad Shameem, Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan split point with Afzal Hossain Sacchu, Md. Nasir Uddin outclassed Delwar Hossain, CM Mahtabuddin Ahmed split point with Reasat-e-Noor, WCM Warsia Khusbu defeated Abijit Barua and FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed beat Md. Zakir Hossain.

The fourth round matches will be held tomorrow (Tuesday) at the same venue.
