WASHINGTON, Nov 11, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - The Biltmore Estate will partner with the US PGA Tour to stage a new tournament starting next September in Asheville, North Carolina, the tour announced on Monday.

The inaugural Biltmore Championship will be played September 17-20, 2026, at the Jack Nicklaus-designed Cliffs at Walnut Cove, a 7,167-yard layout, as part of a four-year agreement.

Ben Hogan won the final three editions of the Asheville Open, a PGA tour event from 1939-1942.

"The PGA Tour is pleased to make its return to the Blue Ridge Mountains with the Biltmore Championship in Asheville," PGA Tour chief competitions officer Tyler Dennis said.

Tropical Storm Helene ravaged the area in September 2024, causing historic devastation to the region.

The event will be part of the PGA Tour Fall schedule, after next year's Tour Championship, where most of the players competing will be trying to secure playing rights for the following year by finishing within the top 100 in season points.
