Bangladesh play 4-4 draw with India in SAFF Futsal Championship

DHAKA, Jan 14, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh men's team played out to a 4-4 
goals draw with India in their opening match of the inaugural edition of SAFF 
Futsal Championship 2026 held at the Nonthaburi Stadium in Nonthaburi, 
Thailand today (Wednesday).

The first half of the match was locked by a 2-2 goals draw.
 
The early breakthrough came for Bangladesh when Moin Ahmed scored the first 
goal in the 9th minute but the lead lasted for few minutes when Amol Adhikari 
restored the parity for India in the 12th minute of the match.

Bangladesh again took the lead when Rahbar Wahed scored the second goal in 
the 16th minute but Lalsawmpula leveled the margin scoring the second goal 
for India in the 20th minute.

K Roluahpuia put India ahead scoring the third goal in the 27th minute while 
Moin Ahmed neutralized the margin scoring his second and third goal for 
Bangladesh in the 31st minute of the match. 

K Roluahpuia scored his second and fourth goal for India in the 36th minute 
while Rahbar Wahed denied India's victory scoring his second and fourth goal 
for Bangladesh in the 37th minute.
 
After India, Bangladesh will face Maldives (January 16), Bhutan (January 18), 
Sri Lanka (January 20), Pakistan (January 22) and Nepal (January 24), all 
matches will be played at Nonthaburi Stadium in Thailand.
The table toppers at the end of all seven rounds of matches will be crowned 
the first-ever SAFF Men's Futsal champions.
