DHAKA, Jan 14, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain put up a
brilliant bowling performance but couldn't prevent his side Hobart
Hurricanes' from a 3-run defeat to Brisbane Heat at Bellerive Oval in Hobart
today.

Electing to bat first, Brisbane Heat managed to score 160-8, thanks to Nathan
McSweeny's 32 ball-49 and Matt Renshaw's 25 ball-37.

Fast bowler Riley Meredith took highest 3-40 for Hobart but Rishad showed the
economical bowling performance, claiming two wickets, conceding 27 runs in
four overs. His tight bowling was key in restricting Brisbane to a modest
total.

However, Hobart batters couldn't put up the performance that could win them
the game.

Despite half-centuries from Beu Webster and Ben McDermott, they were
restricted to 157-8. McDermott made 59 off 36 while Webster scored 43 ball-
51.

Hobart, however, had already made it to the playoffs.
