DHAKA, Jan 15, 2026 (BSS) - Jhalokathi U-17 district team made winning start as they beat favorite Khulna U-17 district team by a lone goal in the U-17 National Football Championship that has begun at Pirozpur district stadium today (Thursday). 

Jhalokathi took the lead early when Mohammad Abdullah scored the all-important goal in the 9th minute of the match.

After conceding the goal, Khulna district team launched attack one after another and created several chances but they failed to score after wasting several clear chances. Khulna failed to capitalize on the empty posts twice in a row in the last ten minutes of the match.

Abdul Malek of the winning team was named the player of the match for his impressive performance.
