Bangladesh women's hockey team to face Hong Kong tomorrow

DHAKA, Apr 25, 2026 (BSS) - Spirited Bangladesh women's hockey team face Hong Kong in their ultimate group match of Women's Asian Games Qualifying Hockey tournament scheduled to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia tomorrow (Sunday).

The match will kick off at 4.30 pm Bangladesh time. 

With four points from two matches, Bangladesh currently stand top of group A. The champion and runner-up of this group will advance to the semi-finals. 

All four semi-finalists will qualify for the Asian Games to be held in Japan. Bangladesh remains in a favorable position even a single point against Hong Kong in the final group match will be enough to secure both a semi-final spot and qualification for the Asian Games.

Earlier, Bangladesh played out to a 5-5 draw against Chinese Taipei in their opening match and bounced back strongly to register their maiden win at the international level beating Uzbekistan 3-2 in the second match.
