Women’s hockey team to return home tomorrow

 DHAKA, Apr 30, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh women’s hockey team will return home early tomorrow (Friday) from Indonesia after participating in the Women's Asian Games Qualifying Hockey tournament.

The Bangladesh team is expected to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 12.15 am.  

Bangladesh finished runners-up in the Qualifying Hockey tournament after suffering a 3–1 goal defeat to Chinese Taipei in the final held on Wednesday last.

Earlier, Bangladesh opened their campaign with a 5–5 draw against Chinese Taipei before registering their maiden international victory with a 3–2 win over Uzbekistan in the group stage matches.

Bangladesh also confirmed ticket in the upcoming Asian Games with a 2–1 win over Hong Kong in their final group match.

Bangladesh secured a place in the final after defeating Singapore women's national field hockey team by 3–1 goals in the first semifinal.
