IM Fahad splits point with Chinese rival

DHAKA,  June 05, 2026 (BSS)- International Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman split point with Hong Mingren of China in the eighth or penultimate round game of the Asian Individual Chess Championship, a qualifying event for the World Cup Chess 2027, held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia today (Friday).

In the eighth round, Fahad Mohammad Rahman, played with the black pieces, adopted the Sicilian Defense and secured a draw against Mingren after a hard-fought game at 50th move. He secured 4.5 points from eight games.
