DHAKA, June 13, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Under-18 handball player Jebe Dai Bom has expressed his determination to maintain his impressive form in the team's final match against Afghanistan in the ongoing International Handball Federation (IHF) Trophy.

Just a day after being named player of the match against the Maldives, Jebe Dai Bom earned the accolade once again following Bangladesh's convincing victory over Nepal, further highlighting his growing influence in the tournament.

Bangladesh registered a commanding 39-25 win over Nepal in the Under-18 category, with the Quantum Cosmo School and College student playing a key role by scoring seven goals.

Despite receiving individual recognition, Jebe remained focused on the team's success rather than personal achievements.

"I would give myself 5 out of 10 for my performance. To be honest, I played for the team and for Bangladesh. I never play for myself. Today, I wanted someone else to win the award," he said after the match.

Reflecting on Bangladesh's narrow defeat to India, Jebe admitted the loss was particularly painful.

"Losing that match felt really bad because the margin was only four goals. We could have closed that gap and won the game if we had performed a little better," he said.

Looking ahead to the final group match, Jebe described Afghanistan as a strong opponent and stressed the importance of maintaining the same level of intensity shown against India and Nepal.

"Afghanistan is a strong team. I want us to play against them the same way we played against India and the way we played today. If we can maintain that level of performance, we'll have a good chance of achieving a positive result," he added.

Bangladesh will now take on Afghanistan in their final match of the tournament as they seek to finish their campaign on a high note.
