DHAKA, June 24, 2026 (BSS) – The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to FIFA President Gianni Infantino for showcasing the extraordinary passion of Bangladeshi football fans to a global audience.

In a post on its official Facebook page, the federation thanked Infantino for recognizing and sharing the love, energy and enthusiasm that millions of football supporters across Bangladesh have for the beautiful game.

The BFF said the recognition from the FIFA chief is a matter of great pride for the country's football community and would serve as an inspiration in its ongoing efforts to develop football nationwide.

Earlier on Tuesday night, FIFA President Gianni Infantino shared a post on Instagram highlighting the celebrations of Bangladeshi fans following a goal by Argentine superstar Lionel Messi during the FIFA World Cup.

"The passion for the FIFA World Cup knows no borders," Infantino wrote.

“These incredible scenes at University of Dhaka in Bangladesh after Lionel Messi found the net show how our beautiful game brings people together and creates unforgettable moments across continents and cultures. What a fantastic atmosphere!”
