4 DU teachers, 3 officials suspended

DHAKA, June 23, 2026 (BSS) - Four teachers and three officials of Dhaka University (DU) have been suspended from their services over various controversial activities and separate allegations against them, a DU press release said.

During the suspension period, they will receive subsistence allowance as per the university rules.

The decision was taken at a Syndicate meeting of the university held yesterday, with DU Vice-Chancellor Prof A B M Obaidul Islam in the chair.

The suspended teachers are Professor Dr. Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah of the Department of Public Administration, Professor Dr. A K M Jamal Uddin of the Department of Sociology, Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam of the Department of Banking and Insurance and Professor Dr. Tashrik-e-Habib of the Department of Bangla.

The suspended officials are Controller of Examinations Bahalul Haque Choudhury, Deputy Registrar of the Registrar's Personal Section Lovelu Mollah and Assistant Registrar of the Administration-1 Branch of the Registrar's Office (currently at the Institute of Leather Engineering and Technology) Mossamat Sharmin Jahan.
