GOPALGANJ, June 24, 2026 (BSS) - A man was killed in a road accident in Pona Bus Stand area under Kashiani upazila of the district on this morning.

The deceased was identified as Shahid Madbor, 32, son of Rustam Madbor from Uttar Kandi village in Nagarkanda upazila of Faridpur district.

The accident occurred around 5.30 am on the Dhaka-Khulna highway when a speeding unidentified vehicle hit a locally made vehicle (Nosimon), leaving its passenger Shahid Madbor died on the spot.

Vatiajhora Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rokunuzzaman confirmed the matter.

Highway police recovered the body and completed legal procedures before handing it over to the family, the OC added.
