Over 3 lakh children to receive vitamin A plus capsules in Nilphamari

NILPHAMARI, June 24, 2026 (BSS) - More than 307,000 children in the district will be administered vitamin A plus capsules under the National Vitamin A- plus Campaign.

The day-long campaign will be held on June 28 from 8am to 4pm across the district’s six upazilas and four municipalities.

The information was disclosed at an awareness building meeting organized today at the district EPI building conference room ahead of the campaign. 

The meeting chaired by Civil Surgeon of Nilphamari Md. Abdur Razzak, was also addressed by Medical Officer of the District Health Department Md. Atiur Rahman Sheikh.

According to the meeting, a total of 307,262 children will receive Vitamin A plus capsules. Of them, 31,409 children aged between six to11 months will be given blue Vitamin A plus capsules while 2,75,853 children aged between 12 and 59 months will receive red Vitamin A plus capsules.

The campaign will be conducted through 1,590 centers located in 61 unions and four municipalities in the district’s six upazilas. 

A total of 3,180 volunteers and 191 supervisors will be deployed to ensure the successful implementation of the program.

The National Vitamin A-plus Campaign is aimed at improving child nutrition and strengthening immunity among the young children.
