Three more die of suspected measles

DHAKA, June 24, 2026 (BSS) - Three more patients have died from suspected measles across the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

During the same period, 1,089 new measles cases were reported nationwide, while 93 confirmed patients were identified, a DGHS press release said today.

The release said that 996 suspected measles cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, raising the cumulative number of suspected cases to 95,760 since March 15.

A total of 79,637 suspected measles patients have so far been admitted to hospitals across the country. Of them, 75,882 have recovered and been discharged after receiving treatment.

Since March 15, a total of 596 children have died from suspected measles, while the number of deaths from confirmed measles stood at 93. No death from confirmed measles was reported during the past 24 hours.

The cumulative number of confirmed measles cases reached 11,390 during the period from March 15 to June 24.
