DHAKA, Aug 24, 2026 (BSS)—The Bangladesh High Performance (HP) secured a third straight victory in the Top End T20 tournament, beating Victoria CA by five wickets at Marrara Oval Ground today.
The Bangladesh national team had earlier made history in Darwin by recording a memorable Test victory over Australia. Now the HP are carrying that momentum forward, remaining unbeaten after three matches in the nine-team tournament.
Bangladesh HP began their campaign with a nine-wicket victory over Nepal at Marara Oval before defeating Hobart Hurricanes Academy by three wickets at the same venue.
Batting first after losing the toss, Victoria CA were bowled out for 131 in 19.1 overs. Off-spinner Rubel was the pick of the Bangladesh bowlers, taking 4-15, while left-arm spinner Rakibul Hasan claimed 3-28.
Victoria captain Sam Harper top-scored with 49, while Australia's Will Sutherland, who has played two ODIs, contributed 30. Rogers made 13 and Blackford 11.
HP XI's chase got off to a shaky start as they slipped to 37-4 in 7.2 overs. Opener Habibur Rahman was dismissed in the first over, while Jisan Alam made 11, Ariful Islam scored 15 and Sabbir was dismissed for five.
However, captain Irfan Shukkur and Shamim Patwari turned the match around with a crucial partnership. Shukkur struck 43 off 32 balls, while Patwari remained unbeaten on 51 from 33 deliveries, including three sixes.
Their efforts took HP XI to 136-5 in 17.2 overs, completing another convincing victory.
For Victoria CA, Hoekstra 2-15, while Aryan and Elliott claimed one each.
With three wins from three matches, Bangladesh HP are currently the only unbeaten team in the Top End T20 tournament and sit at the top of the nine-team points table.
