Aush paddy seeds, fertilizer distributed among 300 farmers in Dinajpur

DINAJPUR, March 20, 2025 (BSS) – Aush paddy seeds and fertilizer were 
distributed among the marginal farmers of Hakimpur upazila of the district today 
under the agricultural incentive programme of the current Kharip-1 season.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Amit Roy distributed the agri-inputs among the 
farmers as the chief guest at a function held at the hall of the upazila parishad this 
afternoon.

Presided over by Upazila Agriculture Officer Arzina Begum, it was addressed, 
among others, by Veterinary Surgeon Dr. Md. Montasir Mamun, Rural 
Development Officer Md. Golam Rabbani, President of Hilli Press Club Md. 
Golam Rabbani and successful farmer Kamruzzaman Shuvo.


The chief guest said to save Aush paddy from extinction, the Agriculture 
Department is distributing Aush paddy seeds and chemical fertilizers among 
farmers to increase the yield of this paddy through research on advanced 
technology.

The department has set a target of distributing Aush paddy seeds and chemical 
fertilizers among 10,300 farmers in 103 unions of the district.

Each farmer will get 5 kg of Aush paddy seeds, 10 kg of DAP fertilizer and 10 kg 
of MOP fertilizer.

Agriculture Department Deputy Director Nuruzzaman Mia said that this year, 5 
kg of Aush paddy seeds and 20 kg of chemical fertilizers will be distributed 
among 10,500 registered farmers in 13 upazilas of the district.

The total allocation for this sector is 51.5 tonnes of Aush paddy seeds and 206 
tonnes of chemical fertilizers.
