Farmers urged to use organic fertilizer

GAIBANDHA, APR 23, 2025 (BSS) – Speakers at an environment fair here today urged the farmers to use organic fertilizer and modern technology to maintain fertility of the land.  

World Vision Bangladesh arranged the daylong fair under Re-Greening Project on the premises of Malibari Union Parishad under Sadar Upazila with a call to promote the nature from the degradation.

Addressing the inaugural programme of the fair, area program manager of the World Vision Uttam B. Das highlighted the objective of the fair to make the people aware of the environment and how the environment could be kept well protected from its degradation.  

Upazila agriculture officer Md. Sahadat Hossain in his speeches described a series of environment friendly technologies, which are not harmful for nature and cropland.

Stalls were set up in the fair participated by a large number of people from all walks of life.

Chairman of the UP Parishad Soyeb Mohammad Russel presided over the inaugural function while upazila agriculture officer Sahadat Hossain, social forestation officer Shariful Islam, project manager Shah Mohammad Mottasin Billah and president of union Re-Greening Committee Burzahan Ali  spoke, among others, on the occasion.
