Industrial gas price refixed

DHAKA, April 13, 2025 (BSS) - Gas price for new industries has been increased by Tk. 10 per cubic metre (CM).

However, price of gas for existing connection in industries will remain unchanged.

The new rate will come into effect from today, Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) Chairman Jalal Ahmed said at a press briefing in BERC office at Karwan Bazar.

Jalal Ahmed said, per cubic metre of gas for new connection will be charged at Tk. 82, while promised consumer at Tk. 31.50 for using gas 50 percent against approved load.

Commission members Mizanur Rahman, Syeda Sultana Razia, Abdur Razzak and Shahid Sarwar were present.

Industries using gas beyond the permitted load will also charged at Tk. 40 instead of Tk 30 for per unit gas. The new rate will be effective from the current month, the chairman said.
