BEIJING, April 16, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - China on Wednesday warned that the global economic environment was becoming more "complex and severe" as the country weathered a mounting trade war with the United States and battled sluggish domestic consumption.

"The foundation for sustained economic recovery and growth is yet to be consolidated," Beijing's National Bureau of Statistics said, adding there was a need for "more proactive and effective macro policies".
