LONDON, April 16, 2025 (AFP) - Britain's annual inflation rate fell more than expected in March, official data showed Wednesday, handing a boost to the Labour government as US President Donald Trump's tariffs threaten higher prices.

The Consumer Prices Index came in at 2.6 percent last month, down from 2.8 percent in February, the Office for National Statistics said in a statement. Analysts' consensus was for a drop to 2.7 percent.
