12,500 MT of rice arrives at Ctg port from Vietnam

DHAKA, April 19, 2025 (BSS) - A vessel named "MV THAI BINH 01" carrying 
12,500 metric tons (MT) of Sunned (Atap) rice from Vietnam under the 
Government-to-Government (G2G) agreement has arrived at the Chattogram Port.

Under the G2G agreement, a contract has been made for importing a total of 
100,000 tonnes of Atap rice from Vietnam, said a PID press release here 
today.

In the meantime, 72,700 metric tons of rice have already arrived here as per 
the agreement.

Meanwhile, the sample testing of the rice, kept on the ship, has already been 
completed.

Necessary measures have been taken to start the rice-unloading process, it 
added.
