BRUSSELS, Belgium, July 7, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - Irish Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe was appointed on Monday for a third term heading the Eurogroup panel of eurozone finance ministers, a statement said.

The 50-year-old was the only candidate after the Spanish and Lithuanian finance ministers withdrew shortly before the vote. Donohoe was "elected by consensus" for another two-and-a-half years, the Council of the European Union said in a statement.
