Govt to sale 3.45 acres of land under Latif Bawany Jute Mills

DHAKA, July 8, 2025 (BSS) - The government has approved a proposal in principle for selling some 3.45 acres of land of Latif Bawany Jute Mills Limited at Hajipur Mouja under Narsingdi Sadar upazila.

The proposal from the Ministry of Textiles and Jute was given approval by the Advisers Council Committee on Economic Affairs in its 20th meeting held today at Bangladesh Secretariat with Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed in the chair.

Latif Bawany Jute Mills Limited is under the Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC).

Besides, the day's Economic Affairs Committee meeting approved two separate proposals from the Ministry of Cultural Affairs on the "July Revival Programmes-2025".

In this regard, the meeting approved a proposal under the Direct Procurement Method (DPM) in the product and services category to complete all the operations related to the event on renting of drones and exhibition of those through local and Chinese firms for holding five drone shows under the "July Revival Programmes-2025".

Besides, the meeting also approved a proposal in principle under the DPM method in the product and services category to complete the related events in an urgent and fair manner to hold documentary exhibitions through LED built on the July Revolution spirits and events in 63 districts and in Dhaka, placing of wreaths at July Memorials and holding rallies in 63 districts, July mass uprising memorial events, printing related operations related to posters, various designs of events and invitation cards.
