UK annual inflation jumps more than expected in June

LONDON, July 16, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - Britain's annual inflation rate jumped more than expected in June, official data showed on Wednesday.

The Consumer Prices Index increased to 3.6 percent last month compared with an annual inflation rate of 3.4 percent in May, the Office for National Statistics said in a statement. Analysts' consensus forecast had been for no change.
