Light to moderate rain likely

DHAKA, Oct 6, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast that light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places in the country over the next 24 hours, commencing from 9 am.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country," according to a bulletin issued by the BMD this morning.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the met office predicted.

On Sunday, the highest temperature recorded was 34.2 degrees Celsius at Mongla station in Khulna division, while the lowest temperature of today was 21.6 degrees Celsius at Tetulia station in Rangpur division.

The maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6 am today was recorded at 93 millimeters (mm) at Rajarhat in Rangpur division.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 5:41 pm today and will rise at 5:52 am tomorrow.
