DHAKA, Oct 9, 2025 (BSS) - To accelerate growth in the ready-made garment (RMG) sector and showcase the latest innovations in the global textile and apparel industry, the Dhaka International Textile and Apparel Expo-2025(DTA Expo 2025) began at Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center (BCFCC) in the capital today.
Mohammad Hatem, President of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), inaugurated the three-day event organized by Eco Expo.
Nipa Jannat, Director of BGBA and EBFCI, Abdul Hamid, Senior Vice-President of BGBA; Nizam Uddin Bipu, President of MBABD; Dr. Wali Tushar Uddin, President of EBFCI; and Masoodar Rahman, President of BGMEA attended the event as special guests.
This year’s exhibition features leading textile and apparel manufacturers from China, India, and Pakistan, who are showcasing cutting-edge machinery, sustainable fabrics, smart apparel technologies, and innovative solutions.
From the very first day, the expo premises have been bustling with visitors and innovative products. A tour around the venue revealed growing business connections and partnerships among local and international entrepreneurs.
A representative of Pakistan’s Unicorn International commented Bangladesh shows promising success “But the shipping cost from Pakistan to Bangladesh is relatively high. If a direct trade route can be opened, investment and business opportunities will expand significantly.”
Li Ha, a representative from a Chinese company, said, “We’re receiving a strong response from day one. China’s investment in Bangladesh’s market has always been substantial, and this expo will further strengthen that relationship.”
Visitor Habibur Islam remarked, “I’ve seen China’s advanced textile machinery and fabrics here. It gives a clear picture of where Bangladesh stands in the global market—very impressive.”
Another visitor, Chaiti Ghosh, added, “The fair is beautifully organized. I’ve seen fabrics at the Indian, Pakistani, and Chinese stalls that are entirely new to Bangladeshi market. This exhibition will open a new horizon for our apparel industry.”
Bangladesh’s RMG sector continues to hold a key position in global economy. By the end of 2024, export earnings from the sector reached $50 billion.
Rezwanur Rahman, CEO of Eco Expo, stated, “The Dhaka International Textile and Apparel Expo is a transformative event for Bangladesh’s textile industry. We have brought the world to Bangladesh’s doorstep—connecting local industries with global standards and opening new pathways for sustainable growth.”
This year’s edition will host more than 750 exhibitors from more than 15 countries, showcasing their innovations across 60 stalls, making it one of the largest international platforms for the textile and apparel industry in Bangladesh.
The three-day exhibitions will run until October 11, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM daily, and will remain open for trade visitors.
