DSE turnover surges 14.4pc, hits Tk6.1b

DHAKA, Oct 14, 2025 (BSS) – The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) experienced a notable surge in its turnover reaching Taka 6.1 billion.

This significant figure marks a substantial increase of 14.4 per cent compared to the turnover recorded in the DSE's previous session.

 The DSEX, the broad index of the DSE, declined by 30.5 points or 0.6% to close below the 5,200-mark, settling down to 5,197 points compared to 5,228 points in the previous session.

 On the sectoral front, General Insurance (13.9%) issues exerted the highest turnover, followed by Pharma (12.6%) and Textile (11.4%) sectors. All the sectors, except Mutual Fund (1.5%), displayed negative returns, out of which IT (2.7%), Paper (2.5%) and Life Insurance (2.4%) led the decline of the session.

 Out of the 397 issues traded, 104 advanced, 231 declined and 62 remained unchanged.

The port city bourse, CSE, also experienced a bearish session today. The Selective Categories' Index (CSCX) and All Share Price Index (CASPI) decreased by 29.9 and 54.1 points, respectively.
