
DHAKA, Dec 10, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and
Exporters Association (BGMEA) has signed a landmark Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) with Parkway Hospitals Singapore Private Limited,
enabling BGMEA members and their families to access world-class medical
services at four leading hospitals in Singapore.
Under the agreement, BGMEA members and their dependents will now be able to
receive specialised healthcare services at Gleneagles Hospital, Mount
Elizabeth Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, and Parkway East
Hospital-- renowned institutions under IHH Healthcare, Asia's largest private
healthcare provider.
The MoU was signed today at the BGMEA's Uttara office. BGMEA Directors Shah
Rayeed Chowdhury and Nafis-Ud-Doula signed on behalf of the association while
Zahid Hasan Khan, country director of IHH Healthcare's Bangladesh Office,
signed it on behalf of Parkway Hospitals Singapore.
Senior officials from both organisations were present at the ceremony, said a
BGMEA press release.
As per the agreement, BGMEA members will enjoy special discounts on walk-in
executive health screenings and a range of fixed medical packages.
They will also have access to a 24-hour hotline, assistance with medical
visas and appointment coordination, and transport facilities from Changi
Airport for hospital admissions.
In addition, members will receive priority appointments with top medical
specialists, free treatment plans, and access to "Meet-the-Doctors" sessions
along with other premium healthcare services.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, BGMEA Director Shah Raeed Chowdhury said,
"We are delighted to partner with a world-class institution like Parkway to
ensure high-quality international healthcare for BGMEA members and their
families. This is part of BGMEA's ongoing commitment to enhancing member
welfare."
Director Nafis-Ud-Doula said, "This MoU reflects BGMEA's dedication to
supporting its members. They will now have easier and priority access to
global-standard medical services, which will play a vital role in
safeguarding their well-being."
BGMEA has earlier signed MoUs in two phases with 14 local hospitals and
diagnostic centres to ensure improved healthcare services for its members,
officials, employees, and their families.
Zahid Hasan Khan, country director of IHH Healthcare Bangladesh Office, said,
"Through this partnership, we are prepared to offer world-class medical
services to BGMEA members. Over the years, several Presidents of Bangladesh,
former BGMEA Presidents, and numerous VVIPs and VIPs have received emergency
services, including air ambulance support, through our network. We will
ensure similar emergency facilities for BGMEA members."
The MoU, initiated and supervised jointly by BGMEA Directors Shah Rayeed
Chowdhury and Nafis-Ud-Doula, will remain effective from December 10, 2025 to
December 9, 2027.
