RABAT, Dec 10, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - The families of three Moroccan men killed on the sidelines of recent GenZ 212 protests in the country's south called on Wednesday for an investigation into their deaths.

In early October, the three men were shot dead by police in the city of Lqliaa, near Agadir during a peaceful protest demanding education and healthcare reform.

Authorities said they were attempting to "storm" a police station.

"We demand that justice be done," said Khadija Ben El Qadi, the mother of Abdelhakim Derfidi, one of the three men killed.

Abdelkabir Oubella and Khalifa Rahali, the fathers of Abdessamad and Mohamed, the two other men killed, also called for "a transparent investigation".

The parents were speaking in the capital Rabat on the sidelines of a report launch by the Moroccan Association for Human Rights on the protests.

The families deny that the men participated in any acts of violence or vandalism in Lqliaa.
