Illegal brick kilns fined Tk 1.5 lakh in Satkhira

SATKHIRA, Jan 16, 2025 (BSS) - A mobile court in a drive realised Taka 1.5 lakh as fine from the owners of two brick kilns for manufacturing bricks without the approval of the Department of Environment and various other irregularities in Shyamnagar upazila of the district.

The mobile court led by executive magistrate upazila assistant commissioner (Land) Abdullah Al Rifat conducted the drive at Haque Bricks and MB Bricks in Ismailpur area of the upazila on Wednesday afternoon and fined them Taka 1.5 lakh.

Assistant director of Satkhira Department of Environment Sardar Shariful Islam and other officials were present.

Abdullah Al Rifat said there is no opportunity to establish or operate a brick kiln violating any rules of the Department of Environment.
