RANGPUR, Jan 17, 2025 (BSS) - The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested an absconding abductor and rescued a kidnapped girl from the Kaliakoir Thana area in Gazipur.
 
"The arrested abductor is Md Sohag Mian, 20, son of Md Rashidar Rahman of village Tongbhanga in Hatibandha upazila of Lalmonirhat district," said a press release this afternoon.

On a tip-off, a joint operational team of RAB-13 and Crime Prevention Specialised Company (CPSC) of RAB-1 at Savar Camp conducted a raid in the Safipur Bowbazar area in Kaliakoir Thana on Thursday night and arrested the prime accused of the case, Sohag Mian, and rescued the victim.

The elite force handed over the arrested and victim to Hatibandha police station in Lalmonirhat district, the release added.

The arrested accused with his another accomplice forcibly abducted the victim from her house in the evening on December 23, 2024.

Later, the victim's mother filed a case with Hatibandha police station of Lalmonirhat district on December 28, 2024.
