Alleged smuggler held with Indian currency in Kurigram

RANGPUR, Jan 17, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested an alleged smuggler with 469,000 Indian Rupees from the Dak-Bungalow area in Kurigram district town.
 
"On a tip-off, an operational team of RAB-13 conducted a raid and arrested the man with the huge amount of Indian currency from the spot on Thursday night," said a press release issued by Senior Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-13 and Additional Superintendent of Police Abul Hasan here this afternoon.
 
The detainee was identified as Md Mahbubur Rahman, 42, son of late Gias Uddin Mian, of village Saheb Bazar in Kutubpur union under Shibchar police station in Madaripur district.

The elite force handed over the arrested person to the Kurigram Sadar police station for further legal action, the release added.
