Truck-train collision leaves two dead in Dinajpur

DINAJPUR, Feb 3, 2025 (BSS) - Two people were killed following a clash 
between a truck and a Dhaka bound mail train at Goraghat rail crossing under 
Birampur upazila here early hours of today.

The deceased are driver of the truck Mahbub Hossen, 38, son of Mafizuddin 
hailed from Nashipur village under Sadar upazila of Panchagarh district and 
helper Ariful Islam, 24, son of Ashraful Islam hailed from Tetulia upazila 
under Panchagarh districtd.

Officer in Charge (OC) of Birampur Police Station M Mamtazul Islam said 
Dhaka-bound intercity Ekota Express Train hit a stone laden truck at Goraghat 
level crossing at 2am leaving its driver and helper dead on the spot.

On information, police recovered the bodies, he added
 
The incident had temporarily disrupted the railway communication on this 
route during the night but railway communication became normal from this 
morning.
