Aricha-Kazirhat ferry movement resumes after 4 hours

Manikganj, Feb 18, 2025 (BSS) -Ferry movement on the Aricha-Kazirhat route in the Jamuna river resumed at 8.00 am this morning after suspending for 4 hours, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Said.

Nasir Mahmud Chowdhury, Deputy General Manager (DGM) of BIWTC Paturia ghat, said that ferry operation was halted at 4.00 am due to poor visibility as thick fog blanketed the river.

However, at the time ferry Bir Shreshtha Hamidur Rahman was waiting at Aricha Ghat loaded with vehicles and passengers, two ferries Shah Ali and Dhan Shiri were stranded in the mid-river and ferry Chitra was at the Kazirhat Ghat.
