TANGAIL, March 20, 2025 (BSS) - A truck driver was killed and two others were injured in a head-on collision between two trucks in Kalihati upazila of Tangail this morning.
The identities of the victims were not immediately known.
According to locals, a truck carrying rice was heading toward North Bengal when it collided head-on with a Dhaka-bound truck loaded with potatoes at Hatia around 7:00am, leaving the driver of the rice-loaded truck dead on the spot.
Police, with the help of fire service personnel, recovered the body of the deceased truck driver from the scene, said Sub-inspector (SI) Taherul Islam of Jamuna Bridge East Police Station, adding that the injured were rushed to Tangail Medical College Hospital for treatment.
