Khaleda Zia can unite the nation: Rajib Ahsan

SIRAJGANJ, Aug 28, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Swechhasebak Dal General Secretary Rajib Ahsan today said the people of Bangladesh still place their trust in BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia as a leader capable of uniting the nation during times of crisis.

"The patriotic people believe that Begum Khaleda Zia can unite the nation, while Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman can steer the country from the devastation caused by corruption and plundering under Sheikh Hasina's fascist rule to the path of development," he told a gathering as chief guest at the Bhashani Auditorium here.

Addressing the leaders and activists, Rajib Ahsan urged district-level party men to remain steadfast, saying their sacrifices would not go in vain. 

He stressed that leadership must be built on the love of workers and the people, adding that no oppressor will find space in BNP or the Swechhasebak Dal.

BNP National Executive Committee member and District General Secretary Md Saidur Rahman Bachchu delivered the welcome address. 

The meeting, presided over by Sirajganj District Swechhasebak Dal convener Abdullah Al Kayes, was also addressed by the organisation's Senior Vice President Yasin Ali, Vice President Fakhrul Islam Robin, Joint General Secretary Jasim Uddin and other local leaders.

Leaders and activists from 18 units of the district attended the event and presented activity reports from their respective union, police station, municipality, upazila and district levels.
