KHULNA, Oct 13, 2025 (BSS) - A 12-member delegation from Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) visited Khulna City Corporation (KCC) today to gather knowledge about its experience in implementing digitalized citizen service systems.

The experience-sharing session was held at the Shaheed Altaf Milon Auditorium of the KCC Nagar Bhaban, with acting chief executive officer Sharif Asif Rahman in the chair.

GCC is currently working on three automation projects to digitize key civic services, including payment of municipal taxes, water bills, market rent, lease, and trade license issuance and renewal. KCC, however, has already fully digitalized these processes in 2024–25 fiscal year.

CEO Rahman said that KCC’s goal is to make civic services more accessible and transparent.

He noted that citizens can now pay taxes and renew trade licenses from anywhere in the world. Initially, both online and offline options were kept active to assist small business owners, but now the entire process has been shifted online.

GCC officials including Chief Revenue Officer Muhammad Saniul Kader and Regional Executive Officer Elisha Russel spoke at the event.

Senior License Officer Md. Moniruzzaman Rahim presented details on KCC’s online trade license system.
