4 business establishments fined Tk 1.37 lakh in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, March 20, 2025 (BSS) - Four business establishments of Puratan Bazar in the district town were fined Taka 1.37 lakh on charges of selling expired and adulterated baby food to the customers.

A special task force committee formed by district administration conducted the raids at the shops on Wednesday afternoon.

Of the shops, three were fined Taka 9,000 each for selling adulterated food items and another shop, M/S Ekramul Store, was fined Taka 1.10 lakh for selling expired baby food to the customers.

The task force committee, led by Additional District Magistrate Al-Mamun, also sentenced Asadul Islam, the owner of Ekramul Store, to a one-year jail term.
