Drug peddler arrested, recovered local weapons in Chandpur

CHANDPUR, March 21, 2025 (BSS) - Joint forces arrested a drug peddler and recovered locally made weapons during a drive last night at Beltali under North Matlab upazila of the district. 

The arrestee was identified as Md Shahin, 32.

Acting on a tip-off, members of Chandpur Sadar Army Camp and Matlab North police conducted a joint operation targeting enlisted drug peddlers, said Operational Officer Lieutenant Zabid Hasan of Chandpur Army Camp.

During the operation, the joint forces recovered 250 grams of ganja, 20 pieces of Yaba tablets, two ganja filters, two SIM cards, two ganja weighing scales, two knives, two cutters, and Taka 13,390 in cash. 

The arrestee, along with all the recovered items, was handed over to Matlab North police station for further legal action.
