PATUAKHALI, April 6, 2025 (BSS) - Local fisherman Md. Nurul Islam made an extraordinary catch in the Sonatala River of Kalapara Upazila here in the district last night, reeling in a massive 12-kg Koral fish.

Caught in the Nurul Islam's fishing net, the fish drew a large crowd. It was later sold at the local market for Tk 929 per kg, amounting to a total of Tk 11,150.

Nurul Islam said he goes for fishing to the river regularly.

"But today, when I was pulling in my net, I felt something heavy. When I pulled it out, I was stunned to see a huge Koral fish," he said, visibly delighted by the rare find.

He said such large fishes are seldom found in the river, making this catch particularly special.
